(photo By Tony Brennan) Built in Dublin Dockyard the port Lairge was the Waterford port dredger for nearly a hundred years before she was abandoned nearly 20 years ago in  a wexford backwater.  The ship was powered by steam and is the last vessel of this vintage or type built in Ireland.  The vessel has suffered vandalism  where she lies but was in a floating condition when beached.
